The Topic of Research

The class is Communications 111. The challenge? Pick a topic of research to focus our efforts on over the course of the semester. A communications research question should of course focus on media technologies, and what is the most explosive and powerful emerging technology of this century? Why, the internet of course. And what is the most critical element of our lives that the internet could affect? The government, seat of control over our society, is the obvious choice. My group has chosen to wed these two important elements of this society and explore the effect that the internet has on people's knowledge of politics. If people don't know about politics, then they can't articulate opinions or contribute anything substantive. And so here we are. Our task is to comb our library's databases for journals and research articles. This blog shall serve as the chronicle of our work.
